Abstract

In this New York Times Article Caribbean Migrants was the main target by which ethos was not clearly shown; in other words Caribbean Migrants was a huge target by officials trying to have them vote for Caribbean America officials. As you go on to read the article you see that Caribbean Officials  were not question in the Caribbean community to be official it happen as if it was no other choice which shows a little pathos and Kairos. It was some time consuming on how the people elected there officials. On the Truth Seeking this article was more on the left side as in Dialogic Argument more than giving the audience a chance to choose what to believe. An example, is “The recently held elections seemed to have further the theory that Caribbean Americans are strongest in these areas where there is a large Caribbean community, as two more Caribbean Nationals joined the list of a growing number of Caribbean Americans now in politics.” This shows how pathos played a major role by persuading the audience about Caribbean people choosing their own people and not extending their hands out to Americans or other countries officials. The point of view that the author was trying to bring across is that Caribbean Officials may only got elected because they know what the people wants to hear and they somehow persuade them that if they vote they will see a better day.

On the other hand, one resident believes the Caribbean Americans have their best chance in heavily Caribbean populated areas. “It is not that they can’t win anywhere else but in these areas their votes are sure.” So therefore, this leads a lot of Caribbean people, from different islands to represent them as one which shows logic. Overall the writer is informing what is happening and also, persuading is point of view that if you are from the Caribbean it is obvious to elect a Caribbean Official.
